Can't go wrong with MAC's Carbon shadow. Sally Girl also has a very, very inexpensive alternative (in Charcoal %26amp; Onyx)...great quality, .99 - super inexpensive.

cover girl has some very nice darker eye shadows with no shimmer in them. they are perfect for you. they even have trios with different shades of black in them
