satin is usually used to describe the texture of the eyeshadow between your fingertips while matte is the description of how it will feel/reacte on your actually face skin,in this case matte means non-oily or powdery. if it's satin it doesn't necessarily mean that it will be matte. :]What is the difference between satin and matte eyeshadow?
