When applying eyeshadow, should the darker colr always go on the bottom part of your lid and the lighter color

How do you do it?When applying eyeshadow, should the darker colr always go on the bottom part of your lid and the lighter color
For the biggest eye look, divide eye lid through center with a cross (+) Start at outer lower area on lid, use darkest at outside edge to eye lashes, let the natural fold of the lid be the cross part. lighten up as you approach the center of your eye lid. Take a light color and continue to the inside end of eye, extend to fold of eye lid. Go back to outside of lid on ';top'; of cross (above the natural fold and apply the lightest color you will use (should be very light) to eyebrow. On the other half of the top of your eye, use your blush color to the inside edge of the bridge of your nose. NOW, take a clean brush and blend, blend, blend to soften all the lines you have with the different colors, blending so there is no lines left...keep the colors clean, if you over blend, the whole thing will turn muddy. IF you want, you can now put a spot of white just over the pupil to give that ';wide eyed'; deer in the head light look. Line your eyes with eye liner, apply mascara, and you are set to go. IF you need to emphasize cheek bones, use the light color of eye shadow under the outside lower to the eye lashes and blend gently with blush brush. Good luckWhen applying eyeshadow, should the darker colr always go on the bottom part of your lid and the lighter color
the way i do it is this: I have an olive coler skin because I'm native american, so i use brown, white and gold eyeshadow. I take my light gold shadow and put it right in the middle of my eyelid, then i put the white in the crease section closest to my nose and just blend it into the gold. then i take my brown and put it in the crease of my eyelid below my eyebrow and blend it upwards, it creates a beautiful sexy illusion. then last i take my natural gold shadow and blend the brown and light gold together and top it off with black mascara. this shadow combination creates a beautiful visual effect that gets everyones attention.
when u put the darke coler on the bottom the liher coler on the top but blend it in
yeah its dark on bottom light on top
Yes you always want the darker color of your eyeshadow to be on the bottom of your eyelid. While you need the lighter color on top to help the darker color give your eyes just the '; pop'; they need.
The darker color always goes on the bottom lid and the lighter color goes from where the darker color ends to the brow. To get the best results use an special eyeshadow brush for the type of eyeshadow you use (powder or cream). To get great eyeshadows that don't crease, use MAC paints. They're the best. I love them. If you want different colors than those apply a neutral MAC paint and then a powder eyeshadow over it. I find the best results come from just applying MAC paints that have color in them. For the top lid you could just use a powder, it doesn't matter.
My steps on helping you I am a makeup artist so here you go:

How to choose eye shadow color:

Your eyes are the windows to your soul. Make them come alive with a touch of shadow on the lids.

Steps:

1. Shop for shades that complement your skin and eye color. Look for colors that softly contrast with the shade of your eyes - not colors that match them exactly.

2. Choose simple, natural shades. If you opt for bright or trendy colors, be careful; they can look unnatural unless balanced with other suitable tones, and may go out of style as fast as they came in.

3. Buy colors that blend well together. You want your eyes to attract the attention, not any marked lines caused by your shadow.

4. Keep in mind that dark colors will minimize your eyes, while light shades will make them stand out.

5. Consider soft browns and tans with sandy or pink undertones for blue eyes.

6. Wear khaki and brown shades with yellow undertones for green eyes.

7. Accent dark brown and black eyes with brown and charcoal shadows.

8. Experiment. Head to a department store's cosmetic counter and have your eyes made up by a professional. Ask for color combinations that could work for day and evening.

Sweep a touch of shadow over your lids to accent eyes. You can define them, add drama, and make them stand out in a few quick steps.

Application on Entire Lid

Steps:

1. Prime the eyelids by dusting them with a small amount of loose powder.

2. Select a light base shadow. Using a shadow brush, sweep it across your entire lid, from brow to lash line.

3. Use a medium-toned shade to cover your lower lids.

4. Contour the crease of your eyelid with a dark shade, using a smaller eye shadow brush. This color can also work as an eyeliner (see the next section for instructions).

5. Blend shadow by stroking the lid gently with an eye shadow brush. Don't use your finger'you could wipe off the shadow entirely.

6. Use a cosmetic puff and a little pressed powder to tone down heavy shadow. Shake any excess powder off the puff, then press it gently on your lid.

Eye Shadow to Line the Eyes

Steps:

1. Choose a medium or dark shadow color to line your eyes.

2. Use a small, flat, angled brush for the application.

3. Stroke the brush over the eye shadow.

4. Start at the inside edge of your upper lid. Angle the brush so that the longest tip follows the shorter end as the brush moves across your lash line. Bring the brush to the outer corner of the eye.

5. Create a more dramatic line by wetting the brush before stroking it through the shadow. Mist a small amount of water onto the brush, or dab it into a few drops of water and proceed with the line. The shadow may feel wet as you draw your line, but it will dry quickly.

I hope that helps.

Yeah, that is a good look, dark on the lid and lighter on top. But you can do the whole lid and up to your brow in a light color with the darker color in just the crease. Or if the dark color is only slightly darker you can put the light color on your lid and the slightly darker in your crease and a bit up from there.

There really aren't any rules in make up...You have seen some of the bazaar things that have been done and somehow it still works because it is a ';look';. It is all about the look you are going for and blending well (use good brushes).

Get a picture of the exact look you are trying for from out of a fashion magazine get similar colors and sit in front of a mirror and experiment. If you are really interested in achieving the exact look sometimes they say inside the magazine the product names and colors they used on the cover models...it is usually just after the editorial.
