sounds like you are using too many colors, hence the blending all togethre. all you need is a dark color and a light one. Put the dark one (with your finger) on the crease or bone of your lid and the outside corner of your lid and then put the light one starting from the inner corner of your eye, along your whole lid, not going over the dark shade on your crease.Girllllsss! try putting on a bright color then a dark color. Try that? Also try watching some style shows like 10 years younger or What not to wear. That is what I watch.
Just use two colors, a bright and a dark. Use a white or skin color shadow as a base in your whole eye. Then use a cutip to apply a dark shadow in the middle of your eye. Use a good amount of mascara and you will look great!
use a cue tip to apply it so it will look even cause it will be kinda smokey!
The trick is to use a eyeshadow brush instead of the sponge applicator that come's with the eyeshadow , using a brush will make it softer and natural ... Start by applying a frosty white to the brow bone to the tear duct's ,that will accent your brow bone and brighten your eye's . Then apply the darkest shade directly one the eyelid , then apply the medium lightest shade just above that ,and finally apply your lightest shade just below your brow bone . It's a lot easier to apply with a bruh rather than the sponge applicator.
Just don't use so many colors. Two shades usually look just as appealing as 3 or 4. Neutrals like browns, tans, golds, are usually easy to blend. Try putting the darker color in the deepest crease of your eyelid (midway b/tween brow and top lashes) And use the light color on your eyelid and just under your brow. When you get it as dark as you want, just use a soft brush (like a blush brush) to brush off excess.
just use a skin color and thena bright color than a sparkley on top and do on e color at a time
i have the same problem. my problem is that my eyelids are so small. i use one color on the lash line and crease and a lighter one on top and between the dark color on the lid (just a spot). blend. it looks best with contrasting colors like black and white or purple and green.

use a light [pearl color] at the very top of the eye [brow line] then...a med brown from the lash line up to the lighter color above...making a nice shape. then whatever color shirt you are wearing...put from the lash line to the crease...that`s what i do. i know this wasn`t really an answer to your question..but it`s what i do...and it works. you also have to have a very steady hand....also remember...no 2 eyes are the same. so no matter what, of course the shape of the eyeshadow will not be the EXACT same. just take your time and be careful. and itshould look great.
first you start with your base and put it across your eye lid, this should be either a medium shade if using more than 2, or the darker shade if using 2.

So, you are experiencing a blending problem. It would help to know how big your eyes are and what your skin tone is. If you have Asian eyes or very little lid showing it IS hard to use more than one color. If you are very dark skinned African American you might be experiencing the fact that colors mute out on your skin and look all one tone.
Remember it is important to use a good brush. No one can be expected to apply make-up properly with a sponge applicator or a q-tip. Pick a natural hair brush that is the same size as the space you are working in. So for example, if you have smaller eyes...go ahead and use a lip brush to put on your eye shadow...forget that it says lip brush etc. You may want a bigger brush to put on your main color (all over your lid and a bit above, up toward your brow line)
Try this. Pick a color that is about the same shade as your skin or something sheer-- these choice should have shimmer in it or irredescence etc...apply that with your bigger brush all over and almost right up to your brow. Do this slowly with a pat and swipe motion. Then very carefully and with a smaller brush dip into a bit of color and in the very outside corners of your eye dab the color. This color should be significantly darker than your first shade. Think in terms of shape. The outer corner you are putting your color on is just a triangle shape. Pay very close attention to how big the first triangle is and try to duplicate that on the other eye. Start with only your lid, because it gives you a natural stopping point. Once you have mastered this...give yourself time, you can start experimenting with shading your crease. But ask that question when the time comes and specify your eye shape and skin tone.

dont go for 4 colors that just looks messy stick with 2, 3 MAX
i usually do like a smokey dark grey/ black on the inside corner closest to my nose, then i do a little swipe of silver over that and to the middle of my eye, minding that the black is only in the corner covering about 1/4 of the lid and the silver is about 1/2 because its over the silver and to the middle of the eye
then do a swipe of pink any dark or light i kinda go for a rosy pink-ish and just do that from the edge of the silver to the far side of my lid, dont make it look like theyre completely seperate and dont use the ugly spongey things they give you with teh make up buy some brushes, after you do the eyeshadow, take a small brush and just sweet a little over where the colors mix DONT MUSH EM TOGETHER just so it looks smooth dont make circles witht the brush just short small sweeps
