What is the proper way to apply eyeshadow?

I always thought you should apply the lighter shade on your eyelid, then blend it in with darker eyeshadow as it goes out towards your eyebrow. What is the proper way to apply eyeshadow?
its darker to lighter cuz then it fades away kinda smokey like

and its prettyWhat is the proper way to apply eyeshadow?
...you put the darker shade first because the whole point of putting the lighter one is to make it lighter

if you put the lighter one first then the darker one covers the light one completely.

otherwise, there are many other different ways of applying eyeshadow.
Your supposed to take the light color and apply it on your lid and right under your eyebrows. Then take the medium shade and apply it on your lid only. Then take the darkest shade and apply it to your outer crease and blend inwards. Hope I helped :)
u put the lighter shade(like white) underneath ur eyebrow u put on the dark eyshadow and then the light(like oulining it.

What is the best way to apply eyeshadow?

In case you were wondering, my eyes are a very deep hazel/green color and the eyeshadow I want to use is a rich forest green...how should I start? What is the best way to apply eyeshadow?
i would use a small blush brush. it applys the eyeshadow evenly and lightly so you dont have to worry about it being to dark. What is the best way to apply eyeshadow?
I also have hazel/green eyes and deep greens really make them pop! when i use green eyeshadow i first apply a lighter color from the brow line to the lid, then a purple color on the eyelid, and then the darker green in the crease, this may sound weird but it does look nice:) I use Almay that is specificaly made for hazel eyes.
mix it wit a light color green first...and add more and more!! to the kind you want... Dont put dark on without puting light and getting darker...Wit fingers! or little tool thing!
-sweep a little bit of pink on your lids

-take a deep chocolate brown and put it on your crease

-take your green and starting for the middle of your lid sweep some outwards blending into the crease

- take the brown and put it on you upper lash line and take your green and put it on you lower lash line
with your hands
The best way to apply eyeshadow first and foremost is by using brushes. FYI, do not use those cheap little sponges that come in those shadow cases, look at it as painting a house with a brush or a sponge. Also, I always you 3 shades, put the darker shade on the lower lid but don't go past the crease, the lightest shade under the brow, and then use a soft metallic, bronze, or golden color in the crease and gently brush over the entire eye lid as a finishing touch. With the rich forest green but that on the lower lid, then but a light green or tan under the brow, then in the crease and as the finish use a bronze or metallic over it or you could always go with a metallic green. A good way to decide whether to go with a more gold or silver to finish is to match it with your jewelry.
first of all use a brush dont use the lil things they give u with the eyeshadows thy dont do nothign for u and they dont work right also u did pick a good color for ur eye color! start lik ur applying eyeliner and do ur darkest color there then just get another color klik maby a light brown and mix with it i think that owuld loook really good with ur eye color! hope i hhelped!

Apply it darker on the corner of the eyes and lighter on the end.Try to use one that matches the color of your eyes.
I think the rule is darker on top near the eyebrow and lighter on the bottom near the eyelashes.
    How to apply eye shadow

The first rule when learning how to apply eye shadow is to draw attention to the eyes and not the eye makeup. While dark shades of eye shadow are used to add dimension, lighter shades can perk them up. Applying foundation on the eyelids provides a good canvas to spread the eye shadow. Choose good quality eye shadow brushes, flat and angled. Always work your way up from lighter shades. Go in for colors that blend easily. Eye shadow colors must be chosen keeping in mind your eye color, hair color and skin tone and not the clothes you wear. Do not overdo the eye makeup and the lipstick.

If you are using vivid eye shadow, team it up with nude lipstick. While grays, violets and browns are wonderful with blue eyes, brown eyes are flattered by gold, plum and burnt orange eye shadow. Complement green eyes with gold and yellow or lavender eye shadow. The intensity of the eye shadow color must work well with your skin tone. Darker skins look best with purple or plum or cocoa brown eye shadow. Always try and choose three colors in the same palette. Blend them for a good overall effect.

When applying eye shadow, sweep the lightest shade across the entire area from lash line to brow. This serves as a base to the other eye shadow colors much like a foundation for the rest of the face. A medium color can be applied on the lower part of the lid. The darkest shade can be skillfully used to create depth. Apply it to the lash line and outer corners of the eye. Work this color with a smaller eye shadow brush. This shade of eye shadow can also double up as eyeliner. A light highlighter shade applied to the brow bone will give the eyes and wide and open look.

How should I apply eyeshadow properly?

when I go to school I like to wear a light pink or brown shimmery eyeshadow but I think I don't apply it correctly, do you put it all over your entire lid?How should I apply eyeshadow properly?
    Hey there!

First of all, you should apply an eyeshadow that accents your eye color; for example, for brown eyes, pink, brown, and gold really make them stand out. I don't know what color eyes you have, but here is a guide that might help you:

Blue eyes: Pink or peach colored shadow will accentuate the blue in your eyes.

Brown eyes: Brown goes great with neutrals, like taupes and browns. Pink eyeshadow with a darker color in the crease will really make your eyes sparkle.

Hazel eyes: Colors like green, bronze, medium brown, or even khaki (http://fairviewministries.net/files/Othe… ) really accentuate your hazel eyes.

Green eyes: Darker green looks great, and will make your eyes look bright and awake. Gold shadow looks beautiful with green eyes, as does bright pink and plum.

As for applying the eye shadow... where do I start! Well first off, knowing when your eyeshadow is incorrectly applied would be the first step. If, after applying the shadow, your eyes look uneven or mismatched, it could be that you are applying the e/s differently on both eyes. Try to be as even as possible, and if you make a mistake, have some Q-tips ready. If the e/s is darker in some spots more so than others, than you might have unevenly blended it. Applying a base prior to the e/s will make it easier for it to stay even throughout the lid.

Blending is everything. When you first dip your brush into the e/s, you should have no more than a layer or two of e/s compacted on it. Remember - a little goes a long way! Apply the e/s to the center of your lid up to your crease using a patting motion; if you sweep it on too quickly, some of the powder might fall off the brush and onto your cheek, and maybe even in your eye [ouch!]. Once you've got as much as you need on your lid using that technique, sweep the eyeshadow outward using a circular motion. Apply more e/s to your brush if needed. For the inner corner, this is the place where you want your eye to brighten up. Applying a highlight, using the patting technique, to your inner corner will brighten up your whole eye. Use that same color to blend the eyeshadow above your crease so it fades out nicely.

If you want to go a bit more dramatic, get an e/s that goes with both the shadow you have previously applied and your eye color, and that is darker. Saying you used brown as your main eyeshadow, I'd suggest dark brown for the dark color. Get a flat brush and apply e/s to outer third of eye, concentrating on the crease. Once there's no more on your brush, sweep the dark brown from outer crease to about 1/2 way - 2/3 in your crease. Blend out any harsh lines.

To finish off the look, apply mascara to top and bottom lashes [bottom is optional]. You will look stunning!

What is the best way to apply eyeshadow on pale skin?

Use bright blue and gold. It looks really good on me and I have really pale skin. In the summer when you're tan, use that as an oppourtunity to wear darker shades. What is the best way to apply eyeshadow on pale skin?
Buy one of those eyeshadow brushes they look like mini makeup brushes for face but its for your eyes they work the best and help blend better, for pale skin i would use light colors, golds and light brown and light green and shimmery greyWhat is the best way to apply eyeshadow on pale skin?
The same way as not-pale skin, brush it onto your lids. As for colors, don't go too dark, use pastels or other light colors, or else it will look too harsh.
same way as always but if ur talking about colors try golds
